WE ARE COMMITTED TO A CIRCULAR ECONOMY MODEL

As opposed to linear production models, circular economy models reuse the manufactured products once they reach the end of their service life. These circular models encourage using products to the maximum by repairing, refilling and recycling in order to extend the life-cycle. This gives our products a second service life and allows them to return to the value chain.

At Solplast, 100% of our plastic scraps and factory starters are recycled and reused to be reintroduced into the production cycle. This allows us maximum use of the available resources and reduces the need for raw materials and energy.

Our end products are also 100% recyclable and can be reintroduced for new production cycles, making them more sustainable.

WE HAVE OUR OWN RECYCLING PLANT

At the Armando Alvarez Group we have our own recycling plant, RM Solplast, where we reuse our own plastic waste, contributing to reaching the 2030 agenda goals and our zero-waste objective.

This process is certified by AENOR to guarantee traceability of the recycling produced at our plant (according to standard UNE 15343).

We also hold EuCertPlast certification, which is renowned throughout Europe. This certification is for post-consumer plastic recyclers (PCR), and it guarantees traceability of plastic materials throughout the entire supply chain by supervising the entire recycling process and also by verifying the amount of recycled content in the end product.

Our commitments

• The energy used at Solplast is 100% from renewable sources.
• We actively participate in managing the collection of used agricultural film in several countries for its subsequent recycling.
• We constantly invest in new projects and improvements so we are able to offer more sustainable products and solutions.

  • Our products are 100% recyclable.
  • We optimise our films’ performance, using the latest technology to reduce their thickness, reducing the use of plastic and decreasing their carbon footprint.
  • We offer specific solutions for the market, such as our range of biodegradable padded films.

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

We actively work to protect the environment using techniques to minimise emissions, such as those seeking to promote circular models during production. We also have a top-notch team of professionals who are conducting research to improve the environmental impact of all our products. 

FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE

We have been certified by AENOR for verified CO2, which guarantees that SOLPLAST calculates its carbon footprint according to the requirements of the Standard ISO 14064-1:2012, and we are committed to monitoring it over time.

In April 2023 Solplast received the CALCULATE + OFFSET seal for the emissions data from 2021, granted by the MITECO to acknowledge our fight against climate change through several CO2 absorption projects.
